Apetit Festival 2014 – Scorpions, Cappucino Nitro, Edible Flowers and much More

Zdeněk Pohlreich, Oldřich Sahajdák, Marcel Ihňačák or Riccardo Lucque are not only well known celebrity chefs  but they are also the main stars of the 2nd year of Apetit Festival in Pardubice. All food lovers can  enjoy  this food celebration at the Pardubice racecourse on Saturday, June 21 and  and Sunday, June  22, 2014 in Pardubice. And there is so much to look forward to this year! Traditional competitions of restaurants and breweries, fresh, edible flowers, insect food  or   molecular gastronomy, all of this awaits you at the festival.

More restaurants, breweries, a broader selection of  delicious food and  higher  quality of services. The organizers of the  2nd year of Apetit Festival have taken good care to ensure all of the above, as well as the participation  of the  best chefs,  a broad selection  of delicious food, great drinks and superb entertainment.

“Last year’s record number of 25 000 visitors has motivated us to make more improvements. Cooking demonstrations will be presented by the real top chefs. Zdeněk Pohlreic will be with us this year again. Other special  guests include Oldřich Sahajdák, a recent winner of the title  “Golden Chef of the Year”   thanks to whom  La Degustation Bohême Bourgeiose  restaurant has been awarded the Michelin Star for the third time this year; Marcel Ihňačák , the most popular Slovak chef, who  trained with   Jamie Olivier . Visitors can also look forward to Italian cuisine  prepared by Riccardo  Lucque, an Italian chef, who has gained  a lot of experience abroad and is the owner of several prestigious Italian restaurants in Prague. Other cooking demonstrations will be performed by  Petr Havlíček, a well-known promoter of healthy lifestyle, and   Jiří Štift, head chef of the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Prague restaurant, who is also known as one of the jury members  from MasterChef, a   popular TV show,” says Martin Nauš of Motor AG, the festival organizer.

Visitors will  be able to vote for the "East-Bohemian Restaurant of the Year 2014“ out of a careful selection of  15 TOP quality restaurants and also for  the   “Beer of the Apetit Festival Pardubice 2014“ out of 20 competing breweries and microbreweries. In 2013,  St.Patrick restaurant from Pardubice won the award of the East-Bohemian Restaurant of the Year 2013 and  Svijany brewery won in the brewery section of the competition. Apart from the menus offered by the competing restaurants, there will be other restaurants, cafés, bars, and wine sellers offering their products to wine and  food lovers. Wine connoisseurs will get the chance to taste local as well as foreign wines. “Apetit Festival will offer the  widest array of regional food products and sweet delights of Pardubice region. Winners of both categories will be announced at the festival  similarly to last year,” Nauš added.
